Our research focuses on ionizable lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) for RNA delivery.

The Han Lab is based in the Center for Excellence in Molecular Cell Science (i.e., Shanghai Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology), Chinese Academy of Sciences. Our research focuses on lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) for RNA delivery. Our current research interests include: 1. new lipid structure; 2. novel LNP formulations; 3. innovative RNA drugs for vaccine, therapeutic and gene editing applications. We aim to conduct 3 'I' (Interesting, Innovative and Important) research work starting from lipid synthesis, formulation optimization, therapeutics development to biomedical applications. Our research will increase the understanding of LNPs for the better development of translational RNA medicines to prevent/treat a variety of diseases, including infectious diseases, genetic disorders and cancers. Meanwhile, we strive to cultivate the next generation of scientists/group leaders by nurturing their curiosity, critical thinking, and collaborative problem-solving skills to address challenges.
